One harness, four mats

Every mat plugs into a single wire that runs to one USB port. Nothing gets cut, spliced, or wired into your car.

How the starlight floor mat system connects Four mats arranged as they sit in a car. A single wire runs from a USB plug to a control box, then up to a junction where four leads split off, one to each mat. An included USB-C adapter sits below the plug.
Built for the distance

Two of the four leads run long and two run short, so whichever port you use, nothing has to stretch across open floor.

Two extensions in the box

For the mat that has to reach the long way around. You shouldn't have to buy anything to finish an install, so you don't.

The cable tucks away

Between the seats, along the trim, under the mat. Five minutes of routing and there's almost nothing left to see.

Both rear mats installed, shot from behind, with the harness visible

Wires left untucked here so you can see where they run.

Cheaper exists, this isn't it

You'll find starlight mats on AliExpress and Temu for a fraction of this. They are not the same product, and it is not the same purchase.

What you're getting

Real carpet. Theirs is coated plastic.

A plastic sheet with a quilted pattern printed on it photographs like carpet and feels like a tarp. Ours is carpet, with a textured grip backing.

A real system. Theirs is one wire and a button.

Four leads into a control box, a full remote, and an app with a color wheel, modes and music sensitivity. The $30 sets ship one cable, a plastic switch, and lights too dim to see in daylight.

USB power. Theirs runs off your cigarette lighter.

Those listings say 12V socket, which means they can stay powered with the car off and flatten your battery. Ours only have power when the ignition does.

Waterproof, and we filmed it

Anyone can type "waterproof" into a listing. We took a hose to a set, then a vacuum — watch the test.

Who you're getting it from

Days, not weeks

Ships from Pittsburgh within 24 hours with a tracking number the same day, and arrives in three to seven. From China you're waiting two to three weeks, and shipping usually erases the savings.

Message us and we reply within 30 minutes

Any time of day. Try getting a straight answer out of a marketplace storefront when your set turns up broken.

Break a part and we replace it, free, forever

A faulty remote, a lead that fails, a mat that goes dark — tell us and the replacement ships free. No time limit. Six months in, a year in, it doesn't matter.

30 days to return it, no questions

Changed your mind, don't like them, doesn't matter. Send them back for a full refund and we cover the return shipping.

Questions, answered

Almost certainly. The mats are one universal size designed to work across coupes, sedans, SUVs, trucks and minivans, and the way they manage that is by bending rather than by being cut to shape.

If a mat sits slightly wide or long for your footwell, press the edges down into place. The material holds that position and it doesn't damage anything. Thousands of sets are installed this way in vehicles of every size.

If you'd rather check first, exact measurements in centimeters are in the product photos above. Measuring is optional — we haven't found a vehicle these can't work in.

No. Earlier sets used a mesh backing that could shift in some vehicles, which is why you'll see a couple of older reviews mentioning tape or velcro. We replaced it with a textured grip backing, and we haven't had a single report of slipping since.

Works on every flooring type — carpet, plastic, rubber.

We send you the replacement part, free, however long it's been.

A faulty remote, a lead that fails, a mat that goes dark — tell us what's happening and we'll work out which piece you need. There's no time limit on this. Six months in, a year in, it doesn't matter.

Failures are rare, but we hold spare parts for every component of the set precisely so this is a short conversation rather than an argument.

Lay the mats in place, plug each one into the main harness, then plug the harness into any USB port in your car. That's it — nothing gets cut, spliced, or wired in.

The only part that takes any thought is where the excess cable goes. Most people run it between the seats and along the trim, where it disappears. Two extension cords are included for the mat that has to reach the long way around.

See how it all connects for the full picture.

Three ways, and you can switch between them freely.

The remote is the simplest — colors, brightness, animation speed, quick mode shuffling, and music mode. No setup at all.

The app gives you more: a full color wheel, multi-color modes, and finer control over things like microphone sensitivity for music mode. Scan the QR code on the back of the remote or on the included instructions, or search "Lotus Lantern" in your app store.

The control box has three buttons for on-off, mode, and music, so you're never stuck if the remote is out of reach.

Like premium black carpet floor mats.

The fiber optic ends are cut short and sit flush with the surface, so when the lights are off you can't see them at all. Nothing sticking up, nothing to catch on.

You don't feel them either. Run your hand across a mat and it's just soft carpet — which matters if you drive barefoot, or have kids or pets in the car.

Yes. The LEDs are bright enough to see clearly in daylight, especially on the more saturated colors.

Brightness adjusts across a wide range from the remote or app, so they can be turned right down at night — low enough that nothing glares at you while you're driving. Most people set them once and leave them.

No. They draw about as much power as charging a phone, and because they run off USB they're only on when your ignition is on. On most vehicles they turn on and off with the car automatically — no switch to remember.

They also remember your last setting, so whatever color and mode you left them on is what comes back.

A USB-C adapter is included in the box.

If your car has no USB port at all, which is rare on anything recent, you'd need a 12V-to-USB adapter. We don't sell those, but they're inexpensive and widely available.

The same way you'd clean any floor mat. They're fully waterproof and vacuum-proof, and they're built to take normal use — step on them, stomp the snow off your boots, treat them like any mat you've owned.

If you hose your mats down, unplug them from the harness, spray them, then towel off or shake the excess water. Damp is fine. Plug them back in and you're done.

If you vacuum, you can do it with the mats in the car or take them out first. Either works.
